i followed my first cookbook recipe last night! it’s hardly even a recipe, considering how incredibly simple it is! but it was delicious. i made “simplest garlic bread” from eat, drink & be vegan. i felt like i was eating two of the most spectacular tasting pieces of toast in the world! i LOVE garlic. i ate my bread along with a salad and a side of pinto beans. the pinto beans were flavored with a touch of bbq sauce, dijon mustard, chili powder, and sea salt. the salad was composed of baby spinach, freshly chopped cherries, grated zucchini, a little bit of relish, miso ginger wasabi dressing, and a sprinkle of black pepper. i rarely put fruit in a salad, but my grandma brought over such beautiful cherries. they were too sweet and juicy not to eat!
my mix of flavors last night was somewhat odd, but there shouldn’t be any rules when it comes to yummy food! it’s not as if these flavorsĀ clashed. eat what you’re in the mood for, right?! anyway, happy thursday! geez…weeks seem to go by so quickly sometimes. in less than 6 weeks i’ll be moving away for college! YIKES. love you all!
(i think these new smilies have bigger smiles.)
oh yeah! i almost forgot! the fabulous emily (the health nut) is having a coconut oil giveaway! be sure to check it out right here! but please…only enter if you REALLY want to win. the less of you who enter, the greater chance i have of winning! hehehe. only kidding. go enter!

What a perfect meal! Those beans sound like a perfect mix… YUM! And I totally agree that when cherries are good, they are GOOD!
So exciting about college! Try to savor these last few weeks – they’re going to fly by!

How could I have missed this recipe in my beloved ED&BV?! It sounds amazing, as I love garlic too. I like your creation of the word “garlicious.” I will put it into regular rotation:)

I really need to buy a copy of ED & BV. It would be so fun to have a whole wealth of new recipes right at my finger tips! It sounds like the ones you’ve made so far are winners.
Thanks for the giveaway shout-out! Good luck!
