pluuuuuuuuuuot!

this morning i decided on yogurt with cereal for breakfast because i wasn’t really in the mood for anything warm. but i’m starting to miss oatmeal (even though it’s only been two days since i last had it, haha) so i’ll probably have some tomorrow morning.

1 soy yogurt sweetened with stevia, 1/2 banana, 3/4 cup flax plus cereal, 2 tablespoons almond butter, side of frozen mango chunks

i hate the word chunks…it always makes me think of vomit (not a great thing to mention in a food blog…sorry) but that’s what the package calls them. maybe i’ll start calling them frozen mango pieces. same thing, with a ย better ring! i am such a great rhymer…sometimes i truly amaze myself. hah. anyway, this was a yummy breakfast. my favorite part was the almond butter with the yogurt. the yogurt has somewhat of a sour flavor, so the nuttiness/sweetness of the almond butter creates an interesting contrast.ย

after breakfast i bathed, shaved (more rhyming!) and showered. then i realized that i had nothing to do today! i decided to go for a walk with just me, my ipod, and my baby (also known as my sigg bottle.) speaking of my sigg bottle, i dropped it today and a piece of the cap broke off! i’m so sad, and must order a new cap as soon as possible. the bottle is still usable though, thank goodness. back to my walk. it was lovely! today was SUCH a pretty day! i walked down to the ocean and then back home. my walk lasted a little over an hour and a half. by the time i got home, my ankle was hurting (i didn’t wear great shoes) and i was exhausted. sometimes it seems like vigorous exercise energizes me, whereas something like a long walk will exhaust me.

needless to say, i was ready for lunch. i had a raw veggie burger inside a toasted ezekiel english muffin. the english muffin was spread with ketchup on 1 half and dijon mustard on the other half. on the side i had carrots with some raw hummus. i’m loving this raw hummus. it costs something like $7.99 for a small container of it, but my mommy was nice enough to buy it for me because she knows that i love it. it’s too expensive to be bought all the time, but it’s so good! with my burger and carrots i also had a salad made with mixed greens, artichoke hearts, and a few spoonfuls of black beans. after lunch i felt sleepy and dozed off for about an hour.

later i stopped by my friend’s work to say hi, and then walked to whole foods, which is only about two blocks up. i bought some broccoli because i feel like i haven’t had a lot of broccoli lately, a big eggplant because i looooove eggplant, a chocolate hazlenut jocalat bar, and some yummy summer produce! i bought a white peach, a few apricots, a couple of nectarines, and a couple of pluots. pluot is such a fun word to say. PLUOT! i also bought a couple of fuji apples, which i overheard the produce guy saying are on their way out of season! no!

when i got home i had one of the apples, the jocalat bar, and a glass of rice milk. i love jocalat bars! i actually like them better than the regular larabars for some reason.

after snapping this shot i sprinkled some cinnamon on top of the apple and the chopped up jocalat bar. i felt pretty full after eating this snack.

a few hours later i made din. i had some leftover vegan hot and spicy veggie brown rice in the fridge. i bought it at whole foods a few days ago, so i wanted to use it up. it has such a great flavor! i’m in love with this rice. it’s made by a place called vegan kitchen. i sauteed some onion and mushrooms, and then added the rice to it. yum! on the side i had steamed broccoli with peanut sauce. give me a super delicious sauce and i can eat so much broccoli!

i hope everyone had a splendid weekend! i’m ready for a new week to begin. i don’t do my regular workout routine on weekends, so by the time sunday is over i really miss it! i’m actually excited to wake up at 5:00 tomorrow morning and go to the gym. exercise becomes so addictive (in a good way.) i’m kind of upset though, because i can no longer find the green tea bars i’ve been having one of every monday-friday before exercising. good thing i can buy them straight from the company’s website! i ordered two dozen of them tonight, but i probably won’t have them for a few days. that means i’ll have to find a new snack until they arrive. but i’m so loyal to them as my pre-workout snack that i rather not eat anything!

here’s the link to the bar i’m talking about incase you’re interested.

goodnight everyone! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜›

ok, i know i am commenting on an older post, but i just had to say i totally agree with what you said about broccoli! i LOVE eating it with peanut sauce (pretty much peanut butter plus a little soy and water to thin it) or marinara sauce! and i can (and do) eat ridiculous amounts when its coated in good sauce. i think it’s just the shape and texture of broccoli that allows it to pick up and hold sauce so well.
phew, i just said waaay too much about broccoli…yikes… ๐Ÿ˜‰
