monday nannercot oats

this morning i wanted to use one of the fruits i bought yesterday, so i chose an apricot because it was the only one ripe enough! it wasn’t even ripe enough, actually, because it was kind of sour and not as soft as i like apricots to be. still alright though.

1/2 cup oats, 1 cup water, cinnamon, 1 banana, 1 apricot, 3 dried black mission figs, 1 spoonful almond butter, 1 spoonful cashew butter

this bowl of oatmeal looked really pretty (prettier in real life than in that photo) and i thought that it was going to taste amazing, but it was only so-so. like the apricot, the figs didn’t taste very sweet either. the banana, the almond butter, and the cashew butter saved this breakfast. but it would have been so much better if i had used golden raisins instead of figs, and if the apricot was riper. i can’t wait until the rest of my fruit ripens! i want to make oatmeal with a pluot! green tea is what was in the mug, by the way. ew, the last few sips of it were SO bitter today! usually it’s mellow all the way through, but i guess i didn’t swirl it around the mug enough throughout sipping, so all that bitter sediment was at the bottom. i drank it anyway because i’m mental and have it in my mind that that’s where the caffeine and nutrients are. i bet i’m right. i really need green tea with my breakfast because it helps keep me awake. if i don’t have it, i get sleepy at around 10:30 in the morning! i guess that’s what waking up at 5:00 every weekday will do. today feels like it’s going to be a calm day. i’m in the mood for relaxation.
