chocolaty peach oatmeal!

good morning! i had such a delicious bowl of oatmeal this morning. it was delightful. i’ve said this before, but a great breakfast always puts me in a good mood. there’s nothing like starting off the day with a magical, oaty creation! before i feed your eyes with breakfast, here is what last night’s dinner looked like:

it consisted of forbidden rice, sauteed onion and mushrooms and eggplant, steamed broccoli, peanut sauce, and sun dried tomatoes. i’ve been meaning to buy some sun dried tomatoes for a while now, and i finally bought a jar yesterday. yay! this meal was pretty tasty. not incredible. but i LOVE forbidden rice. i’ve loved it ever since i tried it at a local organic cafe that has yummy vegan options. i haven’t been to that place in a while, but i don’t need their forbidden rice dish because i can cook my own right at home! for those of you who have never heard of it, it’s actually called forbidden rice. that’s not my cute nickname for it or anything, haha. okay, enough about dinner. let me get to breakfast now! feast your eyes on the pictures below (even though oatmeal always looks better in person.)

1/2 cup oats, 1 cup water, 1 teaspoon cocoa powder, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1 packet stevia, 1 chopped white peach, 1 tablespoon of each of the following: goji berries, golden raisins, shredded coconut, peanut butter, cashew butter

these. oats. were. so. GREAT! i should make chocolate oats more often! i think i might even use a little more cocoa powder next time. the peach was the star of this bowl. peaches are so yummy warm, and this one was perfectlyΒ ripe and sweet and fruity! golden raisins are so fruity tasting as well. i love them! this oatmeal was filled with nummies. on a side note, i don’t always measure everything like i did today. sometimes i’m in the mood to measure, and sometimes i’m not. i don’t really count calories, so it’s not as if i feel like iΒ have to measure. i just like to sometimes. however, i always measure things like vanilla extract because it’s hard for me to eyeball, and it’s easy to accidentally add too much of it. and of course i always measure the oats and water, because the ratio is important for the oatmeal’s consistency.Β anyway, enough rambling! i don’t want to be a bore. i absolutely loved this bowl of oatmeal. the end. πŸ™‚

i hope you enjoyed your tuesday morning breakfast as much as i enjoyed mine! now i’m going to sit back and watch the sisterhood of the traveling pants 2 on hbo. no, i have nothing more important to do, hah! sad but true.
