say YES PLEASE to yoga!

this morning i had a great breakfast. it was the first time i had date pieces in oatmeal, can you believe that? i bought them yesterday, along with more golden raisins (which are so yummy) and some dried strawberries! i’ve never had dried strawberries in oatmeal before. i’ll be sure to let you know when i do!

1/2 cup oats, 1 cup water, lots of fresh blueberries, some date pieces, some golden raisins

looking at that picture makes me want this breakfast again tomorrow morning! it was a simple bowl of oatmeal, but so delicious. i wasn’t in the mood for nut butter or anything overly sweet this morning. sometimes i add stevia to oatmeal, but usually only when i’m including other ingredients such as cocoa powder or vanilla extract, since sweetness brings out these flavors. i actually really love the taste of plain old oats, and this morning’s breakfast was perfection. it was light and chewy, and i could taste the lovely flavor of each individual ingredient. and the verdict on the date pieces? i love them!Β

my afternoon snack today was also–like my breakfast–simple but delicious. it was 1 soy yogurt sweetened with stevia, 4 sliced strawberries, and 1/2 cup puffins. mmmm, puffins. my mamacita saw me making my yogurt bowl and she decided to make one of her own. she even tried some puffins! needless to say, she liked them. everybody likes puffins! i’ve said puffins 4 (now 5) times in this little paragraph. PUFFINS! it’s fun to say.

looks pretty good, doesn’t it?

Atlantic Puffin

a live puffin! aww.

dinner tonight was a rice bowl that contained brown rice, onion, eggplant, mushrooms, tomato sauce, and corn (stirred in at the last minute because i like it raw!)

so far this post hasn’t related to its title at all. here’s where yoga comes in. heather from health, happiness, and hope is having a really neat giveaway! the winner will receive a FREE one year elite membership to i had never heard of this website before reading about heather’s giveaway, but i checked it out and it seems really great! anyone who has taken yoga knows how amazing it makes you feel afterward–in the short term and the long term. so if you’re interested in yoga and/or meditation, take a looksie here at heather’s giveaway! we could all use a little more yoga to ease our stress. at least i could. on that note, i hope everyone had a peaceful sunday! i had a nice walk on the beach earlier. pretty scenery is also an effective stress reliever.

Oatmeal must be the most delightful matter on this planet. Agreed?
Puffins is fun to say πŸ˜€ Maybe that’s why Hugh Hefner’s ex-girlfriend always called him her “baby puffin.” He is hardly as cute as a baby puffin though. *shudders*

Simplicity is key sometimes. Simple oats = happy tummy. Sometimes I put so much on my oats that it completely masks their flavor! I feel so bad for treating my oats poorly haha
Your breakfast and dinner sound sooo good. I’ve only ever had raw corn off the cob, but now I MUST try it in dinner soon.

    PUFFINS are my favorite πŸ™‚
    have a splendid day!
