last night in my dream…

there was such a thing as cacao bliss lip balm. that should give everyone a nice little tap into my subconscious. but hey, artisana, it might not be such a bad idea! and karina (like some cat from japan) thinks she’s obsessed with organic lip balm…hah! i’m really not obsessed, though. actually, i know exactly why i dreamt about lip balm. it was because last night at benihana i was telling my cousin how dry my lips have been lately. the mini conversation that she, my brother, and i had about lip balm must have been what sparked the dream. funny how minds work. (or maybe this dream was just a sign that i’ve been neglecting cacao bliss recently! i’m sorry cb!)

speaking of benihana, i’ll tell you how my night went yesterday. the graduation wasn’t too long, but it was hot–unlike the weather at the previous graduation i attended. and it was far too loud to read. unfortunately, i didn’t pack any snacks, and i hadn’t eaten since lunch time. the combination of the heat, my tiredness, and my empty stomach made me feel sick. i couldn’t wait for it to be over. when it was, i called real food daily (duh) and placed an order for the supreme burrito. i went home and ate it with a yummy kombucha drink that i had never tried before. the carbonation and the ginger was soothing to my tummy. after finishing my meal, i brushed my teeth and met my family at benihana. i felt perfectly full and content.

look at the size of that burrito! i ordered it without a lot of the things it usually comes with, though. so actually, it wasn’t as much food as it appears to be. but it was still big! and i ate the whole thing, of course. even the bottom of it, where the tortilla had gotten kind of soggy from the sweat that accumulated in the takeout container. what? i was hungry and it still tasted fine! the only downside to this burrito was that i altered it a little bit too much, and because of that, it was mostly filled with lettuce. i shouldn’t have skipped out on the cashew cheese. what was i thinking? that’s the best part! i just wasn’t in the mood for too much creaminess i guess. stupid, stupid me. but let me assure you, this burrito was amazing regardless.

this morning i had a fantastic workout. two words: CARDIO INTENSIVE. it felt great! when i got home i quickly showered and then went straight to the kitchen to make breakfast. and i was right–mr. wooden monk is a much more humble model than mr. wooden froggy. but then again, it’s kind of hard to be rude when you’ve taken a vow of silence.

oatmeal: 1/2 cup oats, 1 cup water, golden raisins, fresh blueberries, cmu, cinnamon

smoothie: frozen mango pieces, about 3/4 cup plain unsweetened soy milk, spinach, stevia, cinnamon

do i even need to talk about the oats? i don’t think i do. obviously this was another delicious bowl. and my green smoothie tasted SO refreshing. ahh, it was so, so, so good. it was just what i felt like and just what i needed. this is my favorite way to make a green smoothie. i love mango with soy milk. overall, my breakfast today was fantastic post-workout fuel.

after hanging around home for a little while, i decided to walk to the co-op. it’s about 9 or 10 blocks away. i love it there because all of their produce is organic, and they always have the best stuff. my mom picked me up when i was done shopping so that i didn’t have to walk home carrying the groceries. when i got home it was time to make lunch! i don’t know why, but i felt like this lunch took forever to make, even though it was so simple. i made a spinach salad with cherry tomatoes, black olives, and miso ginger wasabi dressing. to my dismay, i only had 3 black olives left. so that’s all i was able to use, *tear.* i also had a raw vegetable wrap today. it tasted really great! it consisted of grated zucchini, sliced red bell pepper, and barbeque sauce, all in a sprouted flourless tortilla. that’s all! i made a dipping sauce for it out of ketchup, dijon mustard, and black pepper. i love making this for dipping. it’s so easy and it tastes so good! on the side i had carrots with my favorite raw hummus. what a shock! i’ve never had that before! 😉

at 4 something i had an awesome snack. the word awesome is not me at all. i never use it. but it sounds appropriate to describe this snack. after having a green smoothie this morning for the first time in a long time, i was craving more! this time i used soy yogurt instead of soy milk. take a look at this taste bud heaven:

frozen mango, plain unsweetened soy yogurt, spinach, stevia, cinnamon, frozen cherries (some stirred in and some placed on top for aesthetic purposes) 😉

a scoop of nut butter and some puffins could be added to this to up the oomph and make it big enough for a breakfast! that would be yummmmy. anyway, i’m going to close this post now. it’s getting long and i’m pooped.

love you all!

Your veggie wrap and smoothie looks amazing. I think I am going to lose my GM virginity by trying it out with a yogurt first. It just looks really good 😀 So creative, I've never seen anyone do that.
