farewell for four…

…days. i just didn’t want to ruin that beautiful alliteration. tomorrow morning i’m leaving on a propeller plane (i hope it’s not too scary) for my college orientation. when my mom and i get there tomorrow, we’re going to meet up with my future roommate and her mom. the 4 of us are going to spend the day scoping out apartments together! i’m so excited. i hope we find a place! i’m thrilled to not be living in a dorm. sharing an apartment with a vegan friend is going to be so fun. i’ve yet to meet her in person, but we’ve talked (and our moms have talked) and she seems really great. thursday and friday we’ll be at school, doing whatever it is that future students do at orientation, and then on saturday my mom and i are going to fly back home. i’m contemplating whether or not to reveal where i’m going to school. i’ll decide later if i want to give out that information. i will tell you that it’s in an extremely vegan-friendly city. i’ll try to take some foodie pictures (there are sure to be a lot of good eats) while i’m away, but i’m not going to stress about it. i don’t want to look obsessive…snapping away in every restaurant we go to, haha. my next post probably won’t be until sunday. there is wireless internet at the hotel we’ll be staying at, so i might post while i’m there, but don’t forget about me if i don’t! i’ll be back in a few days!

before i leave you, i have today’s breakfast to share. i had strawberry and banana snickerdoodle oatmeal! it was absolutely blissful. i also had a chopped peach on the side. it was fresh, juicy, and the perfect compliment to this bowl of oats.

1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup plain unsweetened soy milk, dried strawberries, sliced banana, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, stevia, cinnamon mixed in and sprinkled on top, 1 spoonful cacao bliss

well friends…i just got home from a mani-pedi and a trip to whole foods. for the rest of the day i’m going to pack, read, diddle-daddle around like i always do, read some blogs, SHAVE, make sure i have everything gathered for orientation, eat dinner, and definitely get into bed early! i have to wake up at 4:00 tomorrow morning!

all my love,

p.s. i probably won’t eat them all, but i’m bringing 5 larabars on my trip! all flavors that i’ve never tried. cinnamon roll, chocolate coconut chew, coconut cream pie, lemon bar, and key lime pie (which i bought a while ago and still haven’t eaten!) i’m looking really forward to cinnamon roll and chocolate coconut chew. yum! i can’t believe i’ve tried so little larabar flavors. maybe i should make it a goal to have tried every flavor by the end of summer. i doubt that would be a difficult goal to accomplish. 🙂

p.p.s. pray for me that i’ll be able to survive 4 consecutive days without making oatmeal for breakfast!

You are hilarious!!!! And so sweet too! I love the hobbit picture! Haha and my sister actually calls me “hobbit” because I eat second breakfasts… so I guess he’s a pretty perfect match for me.
