that was the sound of the bomb breakfast i ate this morning. and guess what? it was another morning without oats! but oats are not being cut from my life by any means, so don’t worry! they will be back! and i’m thinking they’ll be back in a different form next time. i plan on trying something with oats that i’ve never tried before. i already got some expert advice from HEAB and vegan fritz. it’s nothing you haven’t seen plenty of bloggers do, but i’ve never done it before. so stay tuned! okay, let’s get back to that breakfast bomb now.

a chopped apricot sprinkled with carob powder, gena’s banana soft serve sprinkled with cinnamon, frozen grapes, a scoop of raw almond butter

i love the flavor of carob, but i think this bowl could have gone without it. other than that, KABOOM! and just so you’re aware…frozen grapes and almond butter should get married. but wait, you can’t forget the soft serve…so i guess a polygamous marriage is in order!

ladies and gentlemen, i am pleased to announce…no, not that these three ridiculously delicious foods have actually gotten married…but that shopping with my grandma today was very successful! i got lots of kitchen appliances, and managed to find some cute warm clothing! ahhhh, kitchen shopping is SO fun! but i’m really indecisive when it comes to stuff like that, so i was very back and forth with the poor soul who got stuck helping us. my grandma and i hardly let him out of our sight for a second. but he was very sweet and patient.

before going shopping, we fueled our bodies at real food daily with a really yummy lunch. i ordered the spring rolls and the caesar salad with blackened tempeh. this is one of my all-time favorite salads. soooo good! it can definitely be a meal on its own…but 1.) i was hungry, 2.) i needed the energy for shopping, and 3.) i had never tried the spring rolls before, so 4.) why not live a little?

the order of spring rolls came with four, but i had already given one to my grandma before taking this picture. which brings me to this…i actually took pictures at a restaurant! i usually feel weird doing this, but i need to get over that because i’ve got a blog to uphold, damn it! 😉 (by the way, the darker cubes in the salad are not tempeh, they’re the blue corn croutons. mmmm, mmmm, gooood!)

well guys, i’m beat. so i’m going to wrap up this post now. i plan to spend the rest of the evening relaxing, catching up on blogs, and showing my mama what i got today. right now i’m about to watch “the boy in the striped pajamas.” enjoy what’s left of this thursday!
