nom nom nom

you guys…i am on SUCH a roll with the eats. yesterday was another day full of food fabulosity. breakfast was a strawberry, cinnamon, and raw almond butter sandwich on a sprouted grains english muffin. with it, i had the other flavor of the raw granola that i bought at the co-op. mulberry walnut! yum! this one is a bit sweeter than the raw austrian pumpkin granola, and it’s really chewy. i love it! i also had a smoothie made up of plain/unsweetened soy milk, fresh blueberries, and frozen banana. i’m getting it on with the big breakfasts.

[we have a puzzle happening on our coffee table right now.]

for lunch i wanted soba noodles. my favorite! i was going to have them with just veggies and sauce, but since i’m trying to add more bulk to my meals, i thought i might as well bake some tofu to go along with it. i made a creamy sauce adapted from skinny bitch in the kitch’s “savory white cream sauce.” it was soooo delicious. the perfect vegan alfredo. i don’t make a lot of the recipes in skinny bitch in the kitch because i’m not big on faux meats and cheeses, and they use a lot of them, but some of their recipes are SO good. this lunch was amazing. and the sauteed mushrooms and zucchini went really well with it. i could have this meal again and again and again!

later i snaked on this:

it tasted like a chai milkshake! this thing cost me $7.89 (packaged raw foods are so expensive!) but i’ve been seeing it at the co-op forever, and have always wanted to try it. so i broke down and finally bought one. it was bound to happen at some point! it was so wonderful and creamy, but now that i’ve tried it i don’t think i’m going to spend another $7.89 on one. i also had a peanut butter cookie larabar a little while later. i love this flavor, even though it’s one of the less raw ones. the texture is so different than the others, and it truly tastes like a peanut butter cookie. i felt like i was eating pb cookie dough!

i was at my grandpa’s birthday party yesterday (he’s 87!) and it was so funny. my brother gave him a playboy and a hustler. my grandpa used to be the biggest player ever. and you should have seen him checking out the magazines. i guess a guy never gets too old for naked girls! so hilarious. i was there until after 6 o’clock, so i didn’t really have time to make myself dinner at home. what did i do? i picked up food from real food daily, of course! look a this delicious spread:

IMG_2681

> salad: mixed greens, grated carrot, grated beet, cucumber, shredded cashew cheese, wheat free blue corn chip croutons, living citrus herb dressing
> corn grain bread with half tahini-miso spread/half 5 spice cashew-carrot spread
> white bean and leek soup

and that’s after transferring the salad to a bowl, and the soup to a mug. there was a whole helping of soup and salad left that i didn’t eat! they gave me so much food! craziest hugh jass salad ever! i swear this took me about an hour to eat. the soup was really, really yummy. it was full of dill, which i really liked. as much food as this was, i was still able to have dessert. boy am i doing my job in the eating department!

i picked out super cute raw ice-creams from whole foods! this company makes so many delicious sounding flavors, but of course i leave with boring vanilla bean and strawberry. haha!

IMG_2684

i haven’t tried the strawberry one yet, but i’m sure i will soon. i ate the entire cup of vanilla bean last night, and it was so rich and creamy. i probably could have stopped half-way through, but i was enjoying it (and you know how i need the calories right now) so why not go for the whole cup?! it actually wasn’t that big (in my opinion, anyway.) it just felt like it was because it was extremely dense. i hate airy ice cream! tomberlies did not disappoint me one bit. i highly recommend it! so folks, this is the conclusion of another delectable day of food in the life of me.

have a happy sunday! (i leave for my new apartment in 2 weeks from today! AHHHHH! time is a crazy thing! school, what’s that?!)

I’ve been wanting to try raw ice cream. They sell a different brand at my Whole Foods, and it’s like $8 for a pint. So I keep picking it up and putting it back. I’m so cheap!

The noodles sound great with the white cream sauce. I love Skinny Bitch in the Kitch (I made the Big Ass Veggie Burritos yesterday)!
